Yong-Jian Geng , MD, PhD., Professor
Dr. Geng is Professor (Retired) of Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, McGovern School of Medicine, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth); Full member of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center/UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and Professional Staff of the Texas Heart Institute and Memorial Hermann Hospital at Texas Medical Center.
Dr. Geng is an internationally recognized expert in the field of atherosclerosis, lipid metabolism, vascular immunology and inflammation, chrono-pathobiology, and stem cell regenerative medicine. Dr. Geng has received numerous awards and honors, including the Technology Transfer Awards from the International Union Against Cancer (Geneva), the First Award from the National Institutes of Health; ARA Award from Parke-Davis/Pfizer Foundation; and the Fourjay Foundation Cardiovascular Research Award.
Dr. Geng served as the director of Center for Cardiovascular Biology and Atherosclerosis Research, UTHealth, and as co-director of Molecular and Translational Medicine at the McGovern School of Medicine. For past decades, Dr. Geng has served member of expert review committees, including those of the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health.
He served on the editorial board of several leading scientific journals, such as Circulation, Circulation Research and Vascular Pharmacology. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. He has been frequently invited to lecture at domestic and international professional conferences.
