Dr. Xiong is Chief Physician of Department of psychiatry, First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, and Master Supervisor of Kunming Medical University. He serves as National Committee Member of Psychosomatic Medicine and Team of Geriatric Medicine of Pathergasiology for Chinese Medical Association, Rotating Chairman of Alliance for Psychosomatic Medicine in Western China, Chairman of Psychosomatic Medicine for Chinese Medical Association Yunnan Branch, Standing Committee Member of Pathergasiology for Chinese Medical Association Yunnan Branch, Member of Medical Accident Appraisal Committee of Chinese Medical Association Yunnan Branch.

He is also Visiting Scholar of McLean Hospital, Boston, USA, Royal Rehab Private Hospital, Sydney, Australia and L'hôtel des Invalides, Paris, France. He is the author of over 60 medical publications, including over 6 book chapters and over 50 medical articles.

Dr. Xiong hosted 1 project of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 2 Yunnan provincial key scientific research projects, 4 scientific research projects of Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department and 1 special project for Yunnan renowned doctors.

He was awarded as “Yunling Renowned Doctor” of Yunnan Province and won the third prize of Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award and Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology of Health Award as well as 2 National Patents for Utility Model.
