Prof. Zhao is Head of the Peking University People's Hospital, a standing member of the medical quality management committee of the China Hospital Association; a Standing member of the medical-legal system Professional Committee of China Hospital Association, and Vice President of the Beijing doctor-patient harmony Promotion Association.

Prof. Zhao served as the editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of health quality management and edited 6 books. In addition, He has won many prizes, such as the clinician award and excellent teacher award of Beijing Medical University.
