Dr. Hong is Chief Physician and Director of Shanghai mental health center. She is Master Supervisor at Shanghai Jiaotong University, School of Medicine.

She is committee member of psychiatric branch of Shanghai Medical Association, youth committee member of the fifth Committee and committee member of Precision Medicine Professional for Committee of Psychiatrist branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, committee member of the Eighth Depressive Disorders Research Group for psychiatric branch of Chinese Medical Association, youth committee member of the sixth editorial board member of Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, committee member of Depressive Disorders Research League for Branch of Basic & Clinical Research in Psychiatry of Chinese Neuroscience Society and youth committee member for Branch of Basic & Clinical Research in Psychiatry of Chinese Neuroscience Society.

Her research focuses on basic and clinical research in dysthymia and dysthymic disorder. She is proficient in the clinical treatment in depressive disorder, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders. Dr. Hong presided many scientific research projects, such as the general projects of the Natural Science Foundation, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, including the research on animal, molecule, biochemistry and etc. She published more than 10 SCI papers and is the author of over 100 papers.
