Dr. Cai is Chief Physician, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Tianjin University and Tianjin Medical University, Vice Director of Tianjin Institute of Pediatrics.

He is Vice Chairman of Medical genetic counseling committee for Tianjin Medical Association, Vice Chairman of medical biotechnology committee for Tianjin Biomedical Engineering Society, youth member of pediatric surgery committee for Chinese Medical Association, member of genetics committee for Tianjin Medical Association. Dr. Cai is also editorial board member of Tianjin Medical Journal.

Deeply engaged in birth defects and genetic metabolic diseases in children, Dr. Cai has worked on Pediatric clinical, research and teaching for over 20 years. He is the author of over 90 medical articles, including 59 SCI papers.

Serving as reviewer of journals in various fields, Dr. Cai presided and participated 15 scientific projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China and other projects. He was also awarded the Second Prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award.
