Prof. Shi is a Level-2 Professor, Chief Researcher of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of  Peking University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He is an academic leader of internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine at China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases at China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. He is Chief Editor of over 20 medical monographs and author of over 100 papers listed currently in SCI.

Prof. Shi is President of the World Feseration of Chinese Medicine Societies, Honorary Chairman of the Promoting Blood Circulation and Removing Blood Stasis Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine. In addition, he now serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Pharmacology, Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine and Global Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Cardiology.
