Dr. Liu currently serves as Professor of Cardiology in Tianjin Medical University; Deputy director of atrial fibrillation center, Tianjin Institute of Cardiology and an electrophysiologist in Department of Cardiology, Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China.

As an electrophysiologist at the Department of Cardiology of Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, his principal duties are focused on the arrhythmia and cardiac electrophysiology, especially in the basic and clinical research in atrial fibrillation. He participate in the catheter ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular prematures, as well as diagnostic electrophysiological studies.

Dr. Liu has several research interests extending from basic sciences to clinical medicine. His current interests concern the study of atrial fibrillation and arrhythmias. Secondly. he also participate in some researches in the field of Cardio-oncology and  heart failure. Furthermore, he have participated in several clinical research protocols that cover a wide range of issues in Cardiology and Internal Medicine.

He serves as Fellow of European Society of Cardiology (FESC), Nucleus Member of International Society of Electrocardiology Young Community, Youth Committee Member of Chinese Society of Cardiology, Committee Member of Chinese Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology and Member of Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology. He is the author of over 270 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
