Prof. Ren is Executive Vice President of Henan University Medical School. He has long been engaged in basic and clinical research in evidence-based surgery, gastrointestinal tumors and minimally invasive surgery. He is also the author of over 100 medical publications, including 15 SCI papers, 3 books and 1 textbook chapter.

Prof. Ren serves as Vice Chairman of Evidence-based Medicine for China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, Vice Chairman of Evidence-based preventive medicine for Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, member of Concil of Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award and member of medical education for Chinese Medical Association, member of clinical ethics group of medical ethics for Chinese Medical Association.

He is also Chairman of medicine ethics for Henan Anti-Cancer Association, Vice Chairman of medical education for Henan Medical Association, Vice Chairman of splenic and portal hypertension surgery for Henan Provincial Medical Doctor Association, Vice Chairman of pancreatic surgery committee for Henan Provincial Medical Doctor Association, Vice Chairman of clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine for Henan Medical Association, Vice Chairman of evidence-based preventive medicine for Henan Preventive Medicine Association and Vice Chairman of Committee for evidence-based medicine of Henan Integrated Medicine.
