Dr. Geng is President of Shenzhen People’s Hospital, Visiting Professor of Sun Yat-sen University and Southern Medical University, Chairman of Psychosomatic Medicine for Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Association of Behavioral and Psychosomatic Medicine, Vice Chairman of Chinese Geriatrics Society, Vice Chairman of Cardiological Rehabilitation for Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Vice Chairman of Geriatrics for Gerontological Society of China, Vice Chairman of Behavioral Medicine for Chinese Medical Association.

He serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Geriatrics and Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science, and also serves on the Editorial Boards of Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration, Modern Hospital, Journal of Chinese General Practice, Chinese Journals of Practical Medicine.

He was awarded the ninth National Health Outstanding Contribution middle-aged and young expert, The State Council special allowance expert, Guangdong Medical Leading talent, the 10th Guangzhou Outstanding Youth. Dr. Geng also won the first prize, second prize and third prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.

Dr. Geng is chiefly engaged in the research of health care management, hospital management, geriatrics, clinical psychology, psychosomatic medicine and behavioral medicine. He has studied at Harvard University, UCLA and Berkeley and has been engaged in the clinical and basic research of psychosomatic diseases and psychological cardiology for more than ten years. He has conducted over 30 research projects and he is the author of over 220 scientific publications, including over 20 book chapters and over 200 scientific articles.
