Tianlun Yang M.D., Ph.D., Professor

Dr. Tianlun Yang is a Internal Medicine Specialist in Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, and has over 39 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from Hunan Medical School in 1982. As a cardiologist he has been in practice for more than 35 years. Dr. Tianlun Yang’s professional interests include cardiologists diagnose and treat heart disease, such as congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. He has been the president of Hunan Province Chapter, Chinese Society of Cardiology and he is Director of Hypertension institute of Central South University, as well as Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.

As an educator, Tianlun Yang is focus on increasing the global awareness of cardiovascular disease and promoting health equity. He has worked with the Public Health Foundation of ACC to develop and update content for certificate courses in cardiovascular disease and stroke prevention. He has been involved with the Best of ACC program in China, which aims to educate cardiovascular professionals throughout the country. He is on the editorial board for Chinese Journal of Circulation and Chinese Journal of Cardiovascular Research. He also serves on the editorial board of Chinese Journal of Hypertension magazine.

Dr. Yang is a fellow of the ACC, AHA and European Society of Cardiology, as well as an honorary president Hunan Chapter Chinese Society of Cardiology. He was named a Xiangya Famous Doctor by Central South University and has been recognized by the ACC as an Outstanding Medical Honoree.
