Dr. Angelo Emilio Claro is in the Diabetes Care Unit of the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS Hospital in Rome, Italy. He is also a PhD student in the Doctorate in Clinical Research at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale, Italy.

His undergraduate training in medicine was at the Università Sapienza di Roma, Italy, and his residency in psychiatry was at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS - Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy.

His current research interest focuses on the interaction between mental illnesses, particularly depression, metabolic syndrome and diabetes. In the PhD course in clinical research he is deepening his knowledge of research methodology.

Dr. Claro's clinical work focuses on psychotherapy and psychopharmacological therapy of mood disorders and on the treatment of psychiatric disorders in patients with diabetes.
