Dr. Liu serves as the Director of Cardiology Department, Chief Physician, Associate Professor, and Master's Supervisor at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital. He received training in cardiology and cardiovascular intervention at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, National University of Singapore, Cardiovascular Intervention Center at Tokyo Toho University Ohashi Medical Center, DeBakey Cardiovascular Center at Houston Methodist Hospital, and University of Texas Medical Branch.

He is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease and structural heart disease intervention  and pioneered quasi-molecular laser treatment for complex coronary heart disease in China. He currently serves as a member of the European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, and the Chinese Medical Association Cardiovascular Branch Coronary Heart Disease and Arteriosclerosis Learning Committee. He also serves as a member of the Beijing Medical Association Cardiovascular Branch Council, Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee, and Structural Learning Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Cardiovascular Branch, and Director of the Beijing Physiological Society.
