Jihui Zhang M.D., Ph.D., Professor

Dr. Zhang is vice-President of The Affiliated Brain Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University,Doctoral Supervisor of Guangzhou Medical University, Chairman of the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Sleep Research Society, Editorial Boards of National Medical Journal of China. He served as Postdoctoral fellow of National Institute of Mental Health, Assistant Professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Senior Investigator of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital.

His research interest focuses on the roles of sleep disorders on the pathogenesis of mental disorders and physical diseases and its underlying mechanisms. He has served as the PI of 5 Hong Kong government grants, 3 NSFC grants from China and 1 National Key R&D Program of China.

He has published over 40 publications in prestigious journals as first or corresponding author, including European Heart Journal, Lancet Healthy Longevity, Nature Communications, npj Digital Medicine, JACC Heart Failure, Annals of Neurology. His works have been cited more than 3500 times and he holds an H-index of 37.

His works have also been quoted by many classical textbooks (e.g., National Planning Undergraduate Textbook-‘Neurology, Seventh edition’) and clinical guidelines for the management of sleep problems. He was awarded the Young Investigator Award in the World Congress on Sleep Medicine in 2015.
